Tapestry #5. Don't Mine Our Water

Our social engagement plan is to support the film through activating a funding circle the  community partners that focus on ecological and economic sustainability in rural communities with a specific focus on the way that creative practice is central to building resilience. Please consider supporting local non-profit organizations in Yuba County dedicated to preserving the environment and have been central to the San Juan Ridge community’s success.

In addition to festival distribution we hope to travel A Radical Stitch and the tapestries to community centers, schools and museums to inspire others to organize and tell their story through creative projects.

The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL – pronounced circle) was founded in 1983 by grassroots activists determined to protect the South Yuba River from dams. Ultimately, SYRCL won permanent protections for 39 miles of the South Yuba River under California’s Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.
